The surfalliance.co.za website is an up to date source of Surfing, Bodyboarding, Skateboarding, Longboarding and other alternative sports news from Northern KwaZulu-Natal (Zululand). Although focused mainly on the Zululand area we also post news articles from around the country that affect the local audience from our widespread correspondents.
Surf Alliance was launched in 2000 to provide news to the South African Bodyboarding Community at at time wheren there was no other medium to reach the public. It has since developed over the years to accommodate a range of other sports and interests and has even featured news on surfski paddling. We have been responsible for publicising national events that have taken place in Richards Bay and have also
featured blogs from The Pit Pilot, Malcolm Mersham, Jonathan Erasmus, Rian Greeff and Craig Webster.
JBay – apart from the run of surf competitions in JBay, including the JBU Supertrial, The JBay Loggers event at Lower Point and the Corona Open JBay, there are a number of other exciting tournaments for everyone to partake in during the 2017 JBay Winterfest.

Durban – Known as one of the best beach-breaks in the world, the New Pier in Durban is set to host the exciting Cell C Goodwave surfing event during the next good swell.
The World Surf League’s top ranked performers will be joined by the cream of South Africa’s men, women and junior surfers for a 14 day festival of high performance action in the waves of Willard Beach in Ballito on the KwaDukuza coast from June 27 to 9 July this year.
