In one of the best 25 minutes of contest surfing seen at Muizenberg in many years, Steven Sawyer of Jeffrey’s Bay produced two 9 plus point rides in the Final of the WSL Speciality Men’s Longboard division at the 2018 Tigers Milk Winter Classic yesterday (Sunday June 10th) to take the title and the R6000 prize purse. In the WSL Speciality Women’s final, talented Seal Point longboarder Crystal Hulett beat defending champion Simone Robb to take gold and the R6000 winner’s purse.

JEFFREYS BAY, South Africa (Thursday, July 5, 2018) - Today, Filipe Toledo (BRA) won the Men’s Corona Open J-Bay for the second year in a row. The Brazilian lit up 1.3 - 2 metre (four-to-six foot) waves at Supertubes in Jeffreys Bay to win the sixth stop the World Surf League (WSL) Championship Tour (CT) and vault to World No. 1 on the Jeep Leaderboard.
The sixth edition of the JBay Wind Farm MTB Classic took place on Saturday 14 July. Riders of all ages and skill levels braved wet and chilly conditions to tackle the finest trails around the Eastern Cape holiday town of Jeffreys Bay.
The event, which forms part of the JBay Winterfest, offered three distances a 25km fun ride, 50km marathon and the gruelling 85km ultra marathon. At the sharp end of the ultra marathon, Declan Sidey from Team Mad Macs p/b hazz out of Stellenbosch was the convincing winner.
